neonspider: (d/m what are you wearing)

Ok, I have two sets to comment on, but I'll start with this one because of Doctor Who, haha :DD

Damn these are so gorgeous and creative!!! So many fantastic interpretations of the not-so-easy theme of the round (btw I'm quite sad that I didn't have the time for this round; I've really loved what everyone has come up with, and that definitely includes your set :) ).

The first one is so gorgeous!! It miiight be my favorite of them all; it has a really eye-catching coloring that fits Amy perfectly. Very fiery yet light at the same time, so vibrant but not oversaturated which usually happens to me whenever I go for red/orange, so major props for that. Just perfect. I LOVE the contrast and there's a nice amount of sharpness to it too! The crop of 2 is fantastic, and the contrast and coloring in 4 are beautifully toned down. I adore the purples and the crop in 6, and the use of the frame texture in 9. 10 is definitely one of my favorites, I really love the composition, contrast and texture use here, as well as the combination of bw and color - the colored part is also really really gorgeously colored, the blues and purples of the background are just stunning, there's a wonderful clarity to all the colors!

11 is gooorgeous, fantastic blocking composition, which the white texture panel definitely makes that much more awesome! I also love the muted tones of this one cause they fit the sad story this icon clearly tells (...which is kinda awesome considering that you haven't even watched that far yet :D). Anyway, really lovely icon with perfect contrast and coloring and texture use and composition and everything. Actually the whole third row is full of awesome, they're all among my favorites; 12 for the vibrant yet natural coloring and clear yet interesting composition, and 15 for how extreme it goes with the hidden theme, really creative and interesting, I especially love that we do see a little bit of the image underneath the white but it's still obscure. 13 and 14 I love for mostly coloring reasons, they're both flawlessly colored, so much beautiful vibrancy! ♥ The bright yellow in 14 looks amazing and totally fits the slightly absurd/unreal feel of the scene that image is from (you'll get there ;) ), and the pinks and purples in 13 are absolutely delicious, and this is a compositional dream too.

I also adore the lighting on 16, and how this icon is a simpler take on the hidden theme - I love how many ways you've come up with to interpret the themes, instead of going for just one style in all. The creativity in 18 is all kinds of admirable, really fantastic composition and text use, and the contrast and vintage coloring in 20 are just amazing like your vintage icons always are (oh and Doctor, if you don't want to be alone, I know just the perfect Time Lord for you ;) ).

Fantastic job with all of these. I'm bookmarking this post so I can get back to it the next time I'm looking for icons to upload, hehe. If I can just decide which ones I want the most... :p
